Mala dedicated to the Goddess Kali

'Kali, the Hindu triple Goddess of creation, preservation and destruction, is the animating force of Shiva, the destroyer (Lord of the Dance).  She is the insatiable hunger of time that births then devours.' (The Goddess Oracle, Marashinsky).  She is also a Mother goddess, nurturer and protectress, showing up when you need to stand up for yourself, giving you the strength and ferocity that might be needed in doing this. I've chosen colours that correspond with the tradition Kali yantra as well as the Kalika yantra (pictured here).

Onyx:  The guru and the 13th bead (the number of the Goddess in all Her forms) above the guru and markers on each side, are strengthening Onyx, which provides support in difficult or confusing circumstances and during times of mental or physical stress by centering your energy and aligning it with a higher power for guidance.  

Garnet:  Garnet signifies female sexuality and fertility and is known to energise and regenerate in order to balance energy, bringing serenity and passion by inspiring love and devotion.

Lava Stone:   Powerful Lava stone has within it the energy of fire and earth because it was once in the elemental form of fire, and now transmuted to the element of earth. It can be very useful for those who are indecisive, timid, or who are generally feeling weak. Lava stone can also assist one develop stronger ties with the earth. It can also be beneficial for those who feel they are "too fiery", by bringing a natural balance with the blending of earth's grounded energies.

Sodalite (behind the neck):  Sodalite relates to the Ajna and Vishuddha chakras and is said to be an excellent stone for bringing mental clarity and encouraging you to speak your truth. It is also said to calm the mind allowing new information to be processed and taken in.  It brings joy to a heavy heart and encourages self-esteem, self-trust and self-acceptance. In healing Sodalite is believed to balance the emotions and calm panic attacks. It is also said to balance the metabolism, boost the immune system and help to relieve insomnia.

The tassel is made from sustainable bamboo silk dyed with the beautiful Brazil flower, hand-made cotton lace and recycled cotton t-shirt yarn and is capped by a fair-trade, sterling silver tassel cap.
